Flora Shedden in her Picos

Chef, author, bakery-owner, shop owner and new mum, Flora, has kindly shared some recent photos of herself in her new Picos, and has given some lovely feedback.

A bit more about Flora Shedden. She has two books to her name - both well worth a purchase. Her first Aran, is a book based on her bakery, also called Aran, which focuses on quality and seasonality in both baking and cooking. Not surprisingly the bakery sells out daily and has been listed in multiple guides to the best bakeries in the UK including Scotland the Best, the Telegraph and Olive Magazine. Another great reason to schedule a visit to Scotland.

Flora also went on to open LON Store in 2020. This shop focuses on good quality local ingredients and excellent cupboard staples from some of the best independent producers in the UK. Once again it has been a huge hit with locals and those who travel especially to visit.

Flora has recently brought out her second cookbook Supper - recipes worth staying in for, which includes the recipe for this delicious caraway and pistachio cake, pictured below. You can buy Flora’s recipe book here.

Supper is a show-stopping collection of Flora Shedden's best-loved recipes for transforming a night in. Mine is on its way in the post and I cannot wait, especially as having had a little one myself - ‘dining in’ with friends is far more feasible than dining out so I can’t wait to experiment with some of Flora’s recipes.

Some of the recipes like the Ginger Noodles with Chili Oil, are ready in just 30 minutes which is ideal on a weekday or there are more adventurous and romantic options like the Spiced Lamb for two with Lemony Hummus which are great for a Friday night. There are of course lots of delicious sweet treats in there too like the Brown Sugar cheesecake. There is over 100 recipes to choose from with so many extras such as drinks ideas and sample menus - helping a night in feel like a celebration.
